Christina and Blaise met in April 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee by way of eHarmony(!). They were engaged two months later and less than four months after that, they were getting married on a ranch in South Carolina. Although these two hadn’t even known each other for six months when they promised to love each other forever, their only regret is that they didn’t do it sooner. Swoon.

We are so excited to celebrate Christina and Blaise as they renew their vows at The Big Fake Wedding Asheville, tomorrow night at Asheville Masonic Temple and Event Venue. We hope to see you there!

What is the best gift you have ever given each other?
Our wedding vows. We are both words people. We tell and show each other how much we love each other every day. But there is something very magical about declaring that love, in your own unique and quirky words, in front of all of your friends and family. I will never forget tearing up when I heard words that were written and meant only for me – those words are and will always be my favorite gift from Blaise.

What is the most awesome thing about your marriage?
We are both self employed. Blaise is a speaker/author and Christina is a destination wedding photographer. We get to spend all day together working from local coffee shops or our home office. We help each other out with our businesses – Blaise second-shoots for Christina and Christina proof-reads all of Blaise’s writings. We both have jobs that require a good bit of travel, but since we manage our own schedules, we are able to travel together most of the time. When you are with the one you love, a long business trip turns into a memorable adventure. We like to pretend we are full-time honeymooners.

What advice would you give an engaged couple?
Get premarital counseling! I remember thinking premarital counseling was so someone older and smarter than you could convince you not to marry that person you were madly in love with. I don’t know exactly where I got this view – but it is so far from the truth. Premarital counseling is to enhance your marriage – it’s to help you love the other person better in a way they can receive it best. We learned a lot about each other and how to love each other well. I would seriously go every single day if we had the time and the cash!
