Event Highlight: The 1st Wichita NotWedding

Though it isn’t too far in our past, it’s never too soon to revisit the decadent beauty that was The 1st Wichita NotWedding. This was our ground-breaking event in the midwest, and our own Ashley Moore of Events by Ashley pulled it off in exquisite NotWedding Style. Ready for a little step-by-step of how the party pulls together? Of course you are:

Step 1: Inspiration

The Wichita inspiration board was brimming with lush tones and deep, romantic winter shades — perfectly seasoned, if you ask me. The extra fun thing about THIS board is that it shared an event with The 1st Athens NotWedding! It’s interesting to see how our Southeast vendors chose to reflect the inspiration in comparison with our Midwest ones.

Step 2: Say Hello to Amy & Tim

The second thing we do is pluck a lovely young married couple out of the area (usually one we know and love) and ask them if they’d like to renew their vows and be a part of our event! Luckily for us, Amy & Tim said yes, and Darrin Hackney Photography got to take them out for a pre-event Save the Date shoot.

We also got the inside scoop on their love story, which is super sweet — especially Tim’s 11.11.11 proposal!

Step 3: The main event!

Alright fans, we’ve now arrived at the main attraction. You know that our vendors have been armed with an inspiration board to set their minds ticking and their creative fingers to tinkering. You’ve been introduced to the NotCouple and have sighed and aww’ed at how lovely and cool they are. Now, buckle yourselves in for the beautiful last leg!
