Today our Vendor of the Week is Rebecca Hassee from The 1st Charleston NotWedding! Rebecca saw a hole in the wedding vendor industry, and thought who better to fill it than herself? She now owns Purely Elegant Wedding Statements (P.E.W.S., clever right?) and services brides all across the south with beautiful vintage wooden pews for their outdoor weddings. Enjoy this short interview about her job and get to know the lady behind the pews!
What is the best part about your job?
I certainly love hearing thanks and praise for bringing church pews after the wedding, but I think I love the initial conversations with brides the best. It is so fun to share our unique business and to be just what our brides are looking for! Whether it is a certain style of pew that they love, the way they will make their guests feel, or the fact that each pew has come from a church – the excitement that I see on their faces and hear over the phone is definitely the best part of my job.

Is there an app or computer program that you couldn’t live without?
Instagram! I actually don’t post every day, but I hate to miss a single picture of what my friends, family, or my fellow wedding vendors are posting. I basically think of it as a digital scrapbook for generations to come.
List three good decisions you’ve made in your business.
1. Putting brides first by caring and praying for their wedding and more importantly their marriage.
2. Focused on our branding and putting out best foot forward whenever possible
3. Working on relationships with other vendors – make it more fun and better for our brides!

What has been your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
Working with the ladies behind the scene has been a blast. I have not gotten to meet all the wonderful NotWedding women, but Jenna and Callie are as amazing as they can be! They were both so positive, helpful, and efficient throughout the whole process! I never once had a question unanswered or was left to doubt about anything, which made it that much easier to enjoy the process, meet brides, and network with all the other amazing vendors!
