We can’t think of anything more adorable than getting a hand-crafted cocktail poured just for you inside a custom designed (vintage!) horse trailer. Between the subtle rustic details, wooden interior and flashy lights, it’s clear that Tassie Grantham of SassTass Bartending has an eye for design and after talking to her, we can tell she has a heart for people as well. This week’s Vendor Highlight gives you insight of just what it took to turn a small idea into a one-of-a-kind business that people dream of having at their next event!
Tell us a little bit about the story of SassTass Bartending.
I came to Texas about two years ago and saw the craft scene was still in the beginning and exciting stage. I had 9 years in the craft field and saw major potential in starting my company here where it wasn’t as saturated. I never would have expected the successes that came out of my hard work and dedication to my company. I woke up one day and decided that I was going to up the anti and turn a vintage horse trailer into a whimsical and country chic mobile bar for hire.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is the creation of relationships with my clients- both brides and private events. My motto is, “Give them the type of service I would want at my personal events.” I treat every client as if they are my only client and it’s exhilarating to get the positive response that comes from this. I love creating signature drinks with fresh juices, unexpected garnishes like flower floats and using fresh herbs. Really, every aspect is addicting!
Describe a highlight or pivotal moment in your career.
When I finally finished The Pour Horse, Mobile Bar! It’s taken me to new heights and I’ve established amazing relationships with other vendors and venues alike.
What advice would you give to aspiring small business owners?
Do it! I had a hard time jumping in head first and it held back my success. I realized that in order to get ahead I needed to stop dipping my toes in the water and just take a risk. I made a decision that once I booked three months solid, I would leave my day job and use those three months to book the next three months and I ended up booking six!
What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
The Big Fake Wedding was such a great platform to meet other amazing vendors to collaborate with and to network our own skills. We had a great turn out with tons of future brides and their fiancés, we had help with our production manager from start to finish and overall it was truly a fun and rewarding experience.
