Tell us a little bit about Abby Artistry.
My name is Abby Norvell and I started “Abby Artistry” in January of 2015. I went to cosmetology school in 2005 and began my career working in a full service salon. I worked in an Aveda salon for seven years and I absolutely loved my coworkers and guests but I couldn’t wait for Saturdays because that meant I was going to be booked with wedding hair and makeup. My husband and I relocated to the Nashville area two years ago and it was here in Nashville that I decided to pursue my true passion of making women look and feel gorgeous on their wedding day!
Who’s your biggest fan and why?
My biggest fan is absolutely my husband. He has been such an incredible support and cheerleader! Starting my own business was a bit scary and there were so many “what ifs” but he has always encouraged me to make my dreams a reality!
Describe the ultimate bride to work with.
The ultimate bride to work with is a woman who esteems inner beauty higher than outward beauty. My job can tend to be shallow because it deals with the outward appearance. But when I have a bride that truly enjoys her wedding day, chats and laughs with her girls, and doesn’t worry about all of the tiny details going on around her – those are the brides that truly glow! Every single bride looks stunning on their special day, but the bride that is humble, kind, grateful and is wearing a smile, she’s the ultimate bride!
What is the best part of your job?
I truly love so many things about my job! I love that I get to work with so many different people, I love getting to see the different venues, decorations, dresses, hair accessories/veils! It’s all so exciting and such an incredible day to be apart of! I am truly so blessed that women let me make them look and feel beautiful on one of the biggest days of their life, it is such an honor!
What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
I thoroughly enjoyed The Big Fake Wedding. I absolutely loved getting to know so many wonderful vendors and meeting so many guests/potential brides & grooms! It was such a fun and different approach to networking! I’m so grateful I was able to be a part of it!
