A box filled with some of the best local goodies from your hometown? Count us in. Batch combines a few of our favorite things: supporting small and local businesses, Southern cities, and goodies being delivered to our doorstep. Batch offers monthly subscription boxes and customized gift ideas with products from several cities, all with high-quality, hand-crafted items that y’all are guaranteed to love. We were lucky enough to work with Batch Charleston at our fourth Holy City event, and it was a HUGE hit with the guests, other vendors, and our team! Can you imagine a more perfect idea for wedding favors? Neither can we. We had such a blast with Kelly and the Batch team at The Big Fake Wedding Charleston, and we’re so excited to share a little more about them in today’s Vendor Highlight.
“I can’t say enough good things about Kelly and the Batch team. They have such a unique product to offer and they showcase it beautifully. I loved watching Kelly interact with other vendors – you can tell how much she cares about people.”

Tell us a little bit about the story behind Batch.
Batch started two years ago in Nashville as a monthly subscription box service. Simply put, the company connects people all across the country with the tastes, artisans, and culture of particular cities. We currently operate in four Southern cities (Nashville, Memphis, Charleston, and Austin) with a fifth on the way (Atlanta). Since our founding, we’ve begun delivering more than our monthly subscription boxes. We now offer curated gift boxes from all our cities, as well as bulk custom orders (like for wedding favors, hint, hint).
What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken?
Buying sushi at the airport. The next biggest risk is to add a new market. We try hard to pick cities that have great acclaim, wonderful makers, and support what we do. Charleston, therefore, was nearly a no-brainer! It’s been fun to work with so many great local makers in Charleston and to help make someone’s big day as perfect as possible.
What is the best part of your job?
That’s an easy one – all the great people I get to meet. From the local artisans and purveyors to the brides-to-be, I get to work with so many fun and interesting folks! Being able to share some of what makes Charleston such a fantastic (and delicious) city makes every day a good day. I’d say second best thing about my job – discovering all the tasty treats made right here in the Holy City!
What advice would you give to aspiring small business owners?
Find your audience. Don’t assume you’ll be able to appeal to everyone with your service or product. Instead, take the time to pinpoint that niche customer who really needs what you sell. Then, once you delight them, they’ll return again and again, helping to make you a success.
What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
The collaboration with The Big Fake Wedding team members and other vendors. It was such an exciting time to see it all come together and featuring so many components of what goes into making that special day! The surprise breakdancer at the end was a fun bonus!
