Just when we think we’ve seen it all, one of our incredibly talented vendors sends us something so innovative and unique that we are jumping out of the chair to share it with all of you! Our friends at Amelia Street Studio are kicking off the festivities for the 1st Chicago NotWedding with a bang – a hype video bang, that is. Words cannot express how pumped we are to see the rest of these windy city vendor tricks at the inaugural event later this month.
We will be celebrating Ashley and Brian as they renew their vows and tie the NOT at the first Chicago NotWedding on August 14th at City View Loft. We invite you to join us for the party – tickets are available for purchase online here.

“The paper doll concept came from our idea of everyone (and everything) getting fancy for the first ever Chicago NotWedding. We wanted an old Hollywood vibe that gives a nod to the theme of the event. We love the idea of using the paper save-the-date as a teaser to the video, where you see the paper come to life, literally. We designed and hand-crafted all of the life-size suits, dresses, and accessories with poster board and markers. (Except the rings at the end, which we replicated out of paper based on the design of the actual rings from Simply Wood Rings.) The couple, Brian and Ashley, were absolutely amazing during the shoot. They were the dream team and truly made our job so easy. The day of the shoot was super windy, so it was kind of like asking them to hold a kite still without letting it blow away. They handled it like total champs and it was so special seeing them really play along.”
