Whitney and Seth met in the Fall of 2013 in Athens, Georgia. They dated for five short months and were engaged the following February. In November 2014, they were married in the city where they fell in love. Whitney and Seth have a precious one year old little girl and moved to Washington D.C just over a year ago to help launch a new ministry to millennials in D.C.

We’re so excited to celebrate them at The Big Fake Wedding Baltimore! Read on for their sappy love story!

What was the most unique part of your engagement story?
From her: I think the most unique part of our engagement story was how Seth had so many of my closest friends present and involved in the proposal! I was with many of my best friends celebrating my birthday and at the end of lunch they said they had one more surprise. We then walked all over downtown Athens to some of Seth and I’s favorite local spots. At each different location, Seth had written a letter to me sharing memories from that spot and why that particular place was significant to us. Seth knows how important my friendships are to me and the fact that he prepared a proposal that included so many of them was incredibly special to me!

What was the absolute best memory from your wedding day?

From him: The best memory from our wedding day was hands down seeing Whitney walk down the aisle. We decided not to see each other before the wedding, so that definitely added to the excitement and build up. I could not stop smiling as she walked down the aisle!

From her: The best memory from our wedding day was our first kiss as husband and wife because it was our very FIRST kiss! Yes, you read that correctly, we waited until marriage to kiss each other. It was so sweet I went in for a second kiss before the ceremony was officially over!
This is a little side note, but Seth tore up the dance floor at our wedding, so much so that Turn Down for What is now played at all of our friends wedding in his honor!

What advice would you give an engaged couple?
From him: My advice to an engaged couple would be to enjoy the months leading up to the wedding and don’t forget the things that are important. There will be lots of details to tend to and decisions to be made. But, at the end of the day, it is about two people who love each other becoming one. Enjoy it and have fun!

What inspires you about each other?
From her: So often I am inspired by how well Seth loves and cares for others. He is incredibly thoughtful in how he cares for me, our daughter McClain and others. I often find myself wanting to be more like him in his thoughtfulness towards others.

The Big Fake Wedding Baltimore is completely SOLD OUT! If you missed out, we invite you to join us at another one of our events – check out the rest of our 2017 schedule here.
