Tell us a little bit about the history of the vineyard.
HALL Wines represents critically acclaimed, artisan Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Hall Wines are offered in two tasting rooms and winery locations, one in St. Helena and the other in Rutherford, both located in Napa Valley.
Owned by Craig and Kathryn Hall, its vineyard collection features five Certified Organic estates producing classic Bordeaux varietals. Each vintage, winemaker Steve Leveque crafts 15 distinct Cabernet Sauvignon wines which demonstrate the unique characteristics and diversity of Napa Valley. Collectively, over 140 HALL Wines have been rated 90 points and above. In addition, the HALL St. Helena winery was the first LEED® Gold Certified Winery in the State of California, making HALL Wines pioneers in the use of green buildings for the wine industry. Each of HALL’s state-of-the-art winemaking facilities and tasting rooms combine modern art and architecture with comfortable luxury, and warm hospitality for winery guests.
We know that Hall Wines does customized wine packages for weddings. Could you tell us more about that?
Wine can be iconic, forming a lasting memory of the experience, the place and the time of one’s life. It’s also there in each celebration, toasting each occasion and more often it’s the very reason we celebrate. Beyond the extraordinary wine and service at the winery, we’ve created unique wine packages designed to share our Napa Valley and Sonoma lifestyle on one’s special day. Our packages are designed to elevate the wine experience for the wedding couple’s special day. More often, the bride and groom are selecting wines based on a price point, rather than perhaps style or preference to keep wines budget-friendly. At HALL & WALT Wines, we decided to offer a wedding wine package with better pricing for our wines across our entire portfolio, and include bonus gifts. A club membership for a year, an etched Magnum or 3L of wine, included visits to the wineries and $1 shipping to the location of the wedding. Our wines are delicious, flavorful and perfect to toast your celebration with!
What’s something special about Hall Wines that sets it apart?
We’ve recently opened the doors of our brand new Hospitality & Educational Wine Campus in St. Helena to introduce the novice and the collector to wine country luxury at its finest. Extraordinary modern art, unique indoor and outdoor spaces, and world-class wines come together to offer the quintessential wine country experience. We take our work seriously, but not too seriously. We like to have fun, embracing the wine country lifestyle and engaging our guests with warm and welcoming hospitality. Culinary workshops are held in our cutting-edge demonstration kitchen, sunset cruises begin at the ocean-view terrace in summer, and Bunny Foo Foo hops proudly above our Hwy 29 vineyard.
What’s the best part of your job (other than the taste tests!)?
Let me premise this question with: this is not a real job. Who gets to wake up amidst the vineyards and two beautiful mountain ranges, bike to work and share wine stories with new friends? I’ve met hundreds of visiting guests that marvel at the modern and historic textures and expressions around the property, engulfed in wonder and amazement. I hear how wonderful the experiences and the wines are, and their talk of returning very soon. I don’t think those experiences are possible without a dedicated team. I believe the best part of my job, if you want to call it that, is the team I work with. We’re a collective of cool, creative types that are building a fun, cutting-edge wine brand with a range of incredible wines for everyone. We build new business together, volunteer our time in our community and are emerging leaders in wine education throughout Napa Valley. This is a lifestyle, not a job. We live wine country every day, and aim to share that bit of magic with you on your wedding day and beyond.
