Valentine’s Day is this Sunday, and lots of lucky ladies will be receiving flowers, chocolate, and jewelry. As for us? We choose jewelry – specifically from our amazing vendors! Unique, bohemian, and romantic, Fox & Beaux jewelry is inspired by good vibes and handmade with love. It was such a treat getting to work with Lauren and her team at The Big Fake Wedding Asheville, and we are thrilled to have them on board again at our Charlotte event in April! Learn more about Fox & Beaux in their Vendor Highlight below.

“Not only is this handmade jewelry is the perfect touch for your big day, but you can also tell that the folks at Fox & Beaux put so much love into each and every piece. Love them!” – The Big Fake Wedding Asheville Team

Tell us a little bit about the story of Fox and Beaux.
Fox and Beaux was created in 2011 by me, Lauren Moody, and my Beaux Steven Stedillie. We were on a quest to create jewelry that stood out from the crowd. Unique, and mostly one-of-a-kind statement pieces; works of art that anyone could wear. We wanted to break the mold of what jewelry has been, and write a new page in the history books about what jewelry could be. To accurately describe Fox and Beaux Jewelry would be like trying to put time in a box, or convey the entire human experience in a single breath.  What is known is that each piece is as timeless as it is exceptionally unique. Hand-Crafted luxuries that go beyond sight, and touch the human soul.  Statement pieces telling stories; From the energies pulsing through the rough and raw stones tantalizing your chakras, to the the whispered enchantments of revitalized ancient artifacts from times long gone.  Gracing your body with Fox and Beaux doesn’t just make a statement, it tells YOUR story.

Who or what inspires you?
To me, LIFE is my ongoing inspiration!  Each and every day brings on something new; new friends, new conversations, new ideas, new beginnings, new ends. I pull inspiration from everyday adventures and interactions, and let my experiences and inner spirit guide me. Color palettes for a new seasonal jewelry collection might come from a memorable hike in the woods, or from a painting hanging in a coffee shop.  I think that if you are open and receptive, inspiration can flow like the wind, you might not see it working on you, but you can feel it! I try to be calm, clear and mindful to let life’s wisdom guide me to my next big idea!

Describe a highlight or pivotal moment in your career.
Moving to Asheville was the turning point for Fox and Beaux. This amazing town is small enough that artists from all walks of life can live together in harmony, and big enough that tourists from all over the world come to visit an explore.  In 2014 Fox and Beaux became a vendor at The Grove Arcade’s outdoor Portico Market located downtown on Battery Park Avenue. It is a perfectly sized all year round market place with 12 ‘table stalls’, where approved local vendors of all types can come and sell their handcrafted goods.  Becoming a full time vendor at the Portico Market in 2015 put us on the map in Asheville, and we absolutely adore our small retail location downtown!

What is the best part of my job?
It’s been said by many people much wiser than me, that the things you remember and cherish the most in life are not what you gain for yourself, but what you do for others. The best part of my job is definitely seeing the look on my customers faces, and feeling their love and excitement when they receive Fox and Beaux Jewelry! That alone is what inspires us to continue designing and creating unique and custom pieces of jewelry.  It really is our greatest pleasure bringing happiness and joy to the lives of others!

What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
My favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience was seeing the event come to life so seamlessly and eloquently.  I met most of the vendors in the Asheville Wedding the night before the event, and it was truly astonishing to see everyones creative ideas and expressions come to life from our beautiful story board.  Everything about the day of the event was so cohesive and magical. If you didn’t know anything about the event, you would have thought we had been planning each and every detail of the event together for months.  There are so many positive elements that came from being a part of this unique experience that I will never forget, and we are so appreciative of The Big Fake Wedding for choosing us to be a part of this wonderful event!
