“I believe in living life to the fullest and sometimes that involves big changes to follow your dreams. I’m so excited for what will come next.” Danielle of Paper Portrayals is just as talented as she is inspiring, y’all. This gal makes incredibly detailed and impressively lifelike PAPER flowers, and we are big fans of her. It was so wonderful getting to see what Danielle can do at The Big Fake Wedding San Francisco, and we’re thrilled to share more about her business in today’s Vendor Highlight!
“Danielle is a true artist, and we were all in awe of the gorgeous florals she created… out of PAPER! Her creations were so unique and were definite points of discussion for all of the guests. People just could not believe they were paper! I am excited to see where Danielle takes this incredible gift of hers.”

Tell us a little bit about the story of Paper Portrayals.
I started Paper Portrayals in 2011 after making paper flowers for my own wedding. The response I received was so wonderful that I quickly made the decision to become a paper florist and creative entrepreneur. I have grown so much as an artist and as a person because of that decision. Paper Portrayals began and continues to exist 100% because of the support and encouragement of those around me.
Who or what inspires you?
I am most inspired by the magnificence of nature, of course; colors, the light, the breeze, life cycles, just to name a few. I am also greatly inspired by artists and other individuals who continually show-up, day after day, to do the work that inspires and moves them.
Describe a highlight or pivotal moment in your career.
My husband and I recently relocated from New York City (Brooklyn) to a small town in Northern California. In our new West Coast life we are now surrounded by nature every day, which was one of the main reasons we decided to move. I believe in living life to the fullest and sometimes that involves big changes to follow your dreams. I’m so excited for what will come next.
What is the best part of your job?
My favorite part of what I do, besides the obvious one of getting to make flowers all day, is that I can make my own schedule. Seriously! It allows me to really focus and get in the flow when I’m working (sometimes I do 12 hour days) and other times allows me to relax and take an unexpected day off! Setting my own schedule is a personal kind of freedom that I sincerely cherish.
What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
The best part of The Big Fake Wedding was meeting all of the other amazing wedding professionals. We are surrounded by such inspiring talent in the Bay Area and I know I left there with some great new friends!
