When Jordan and Daniel saw each other from across the room at a party, it was love at first sight. He called her the very next day, asked her out on a date, and they never looked back. Jordan and Daniel were married at a vineyard at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, VA in 2011, and have hardly spent a day apart in their ten years together.
We are so excited to celebrate Jordan and Daniel as they renew their vows at The Big Fake Wedding Charleston tomorrow night at Memminger Auditorium. We hope to see you there!
Tell us a little bit about your story.
Daniel and I met at a party at James Madison University – how “college” of us! My pick up line may or may not have been “you have juicy lips” (I have yet to live that one down…) Honestly, it was love at first sight and he called me the very next day, asked me out on a date, and have hardly spent a day apart in our 10 years together. We got married at a vineyard at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, VA in August 2011. It was the most beautiful and best day with a close second the birth of our baby in June 2014.
What is “your song” and why?
Our song has always been “Sparks” by Coldplay and it was our first dance at our wedding but I think that’s been knocked out! My sister SURPRISED us with a song she wrote for us called “Meet Me in Charleston.” She’s a super talented singer/songwriter and we had no idea she was doing that. She performed it at our wedding and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the place!
What was the absolute best memory from your wedding day?
From her: I know it may be the cliche answer but seeing him at the end of the aisle was the best part. Sometimes its hard for me to be the center of attention especially when theres so many emotions involved but seeing him with my dad walking me down the aisle, everything else disappeared. Also, saying our beautiful vows in front of all of our favorite people in one of our favorite places- it just doesn’t get much better.
From him: My favorite memory from our wedding day was watching her walk down the aisle. Everyone stood up and she was walking in from an angle that in which I could not see her. I was jumping up and down to try and catch a glimpse of my soon to be wife. I’m glad only the priest was behind me, watching me jump up and down like a fool. And there she was! Absolutely gorgeous!
What inspires you about each other?
From her: Daniel’s support and love for me and our family, his passion and drive and how he cares for others, inspire me. He makes me so happy and feel safe and loved!
From him: I can be a bit straight forward and harsh sometimes. She inspires me to a kinder, gentler, more compassionate person. I couldn’t have found a wife with a more perfect soul. She cares so much about her friends and family, and I love that about her!
