Jessica and Brandon met in high school almost 15 years ago(!), started dating their senior year, and have been together ever since. These high school sweethearts got married six years ago in Georgia, now have an 8-month-old baby and even work for the same company. In their words: “life is wonderful.”

We are so excited to celebrate Jessica and Brandon as they renew their vows at The Big Fake Wedding Atlanta, tomorrow night at Atlanta History Center. We hope to see you there!

What is the best date you have ever had?

Recently we went on an experience called top ten movies by Reel Love where we each choose our top 10 movies and a clip that best shows an expression of love. Along with a couple other games, we analyzed the clips to see how we each view and receive love and how God loves us through all these different ways. Especially since we love movies, it was so fun. Best of all, this event was sponsored by someone else.

What is the most awesome thing about your marriage?
We love doing things together, especially watching movies. Before we had a baby, we would watch a movie almost every weekend and sometimes 2 in one weekend. We usually only like to watch certain movies with each other and not other people. Most people need their alone time but we love spending a lot of our free time together. We just have so much fun together.

What was the most unique part of your engagement story?
What’s unique about us is our story. My parents were against our relationship because I wasn’t dating someone in my own culture. I almost gave up on our relationship early on because of this but Brandon had faith they could change. After 3 years of dating, to test our faith, obedience, perseverance and prove our relationship to my parents, we didn’t physically see each other for a year upon their request. We were still together, so we talked on the phone everyday. It was hard but worth it. After that year was over, my mom said she would never go against our relationship again. A month later, Brandon proposed!
