If we could put into words how we’d like our makeup done for a special event, “naturally glamorous” pretty much sums it up. This is how hair and makeup artist, Diana of Occasions by Diana, describes her business – and that’s just one of the reasons why we love her. Also on the top of the list: sweet, talented, fun, easy to work with… the list goes on and on. Occasions by Diana makes you look (and feel!) like the best version of yourself on your big day, and we think that’s pretty special. It was so lovely getting to work with Diana at The Big Fake Wedding Philadelphia, and we’re thrilled to share more about her business in today’s Vendor Highlight.

“Diana is truly a gem. Not only is she incredibly kind and easy to work with, but crazy-talented as well! She has a gift for making brides feel like the absolute best version of themselves on their special day.”

Describe Occasions by Diana in five words or less.
Naturally glamorous.

Who or what inspires you?
Classic, vintage-esque styling inspires me. I love the femininity of it and also the clean yet soft lines that create a beautiful, natural look that remains timeless. Classic styling is fitting for just about everyone, and because I customize every look to my clients’ comfort and desire, it is wonderful to be able to tune the glam up or down, yet remain refined overall.

Describe the ultimate bride to work with.
The ultimate bride, to me, is one who chooses me because my overall hair and makeup artistry style fits their desired look. After that, it is important to be open and communicative during the beauty process because the perfect style will take insight, hands on work, and creativity in order for it to be the exact fit (particularly at the trial). The best is when my client gives me a solid directional start where we can both get on the same page with the cohesiveness of the look, and then allows me to do my thing and bring the style to life for them in particular and with my own touch.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever received was to never stop learning and challenging your craft and skills. Also, as an artist, that it is important to step back and take a look at the overall picture when working.

What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
It is hard to pin point a favorite part! I had a great time with The Big Fake Wedding. From the consistently kind and helpful crew, to the awesome and unique vendor group, it was so great meeting the other professionals. I appreciated being immersed in all of the creative vibes of those around me. It is so fun to get to show your work in real time. Also, what excited me was that generally in my business I am gone before the wedding begins, so it was so great to shake the hands of others involved and get to actually see the whole thing evolve into a beautiful combination of skill and ideas.
