“I get to surround myself with wonderful people who inspire me to work harder and be better. There is no better feeling than going to bed exhausted because you kicked ass that day.” Jessica of Paper Fox LA, on the best part of her job. We could not agree more, sister. Paper Fox LA, which specializes in handmade party and home decor, started as the result of a “when one door closes, another opens” kind of situation, and we are SO glad that it did! It was so much fun working with Paper Fox LA at The Big Fake Wedding Los Angeles, and we can’t wait to work with them again.

“Jessica is fantastic. She is incredibly creative, sweet, and such a blast to work with. The Paper Fox LA products are too cool – I want every single thing on their website!”

Tell us a little bit about the inception of Paper Fox LA.
Paper Fox LA was started because I really hated my job at the time. I knew I wanted to do something creative but I was daunted by the idea of starting a business. Then one day, the company I worked at downsized dramatically and I was suddenly out of a job! I knew I had to act fast and I definitely didn’t want to go back to a working at a corporate black hole. My friend Lauren and I decided to go all in and turn a little hobby into a full fledged, rent-paying business. I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time!

Who or what inspires you?
Paper Fox is inspired by the wonderful city of Los Angeles! We love LA and all it has to offer. We meet inspiring women and entrepreneurs every day and get to work on amazing projects with incredible creative people. There is no doubt that that living in Los Angeles has been a major contributor to our success and growth.

What advice would you give to aspiring small business owners?
Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed by the Big Picture. While it is important to look ahead and plan for the future, sometimes you just need to take it one step at a time. I often find myself getting stressed out when I look at a crazy packed schedule for the next few weeks and I wonder how I am going to get through it all. But when I just focus on today, on one hour at a time, I find myself getting so much more done and feeling more confident in myself.

What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
I loved getting to know and work with so many amazing vendors. They inspired me to go above and beyond what I thought we were capable of.
