Tell us a little bit about the story behind Events by Elaine.
My story starts as a little girl playing dress up with my grandmother’s wedding dress and china. After my own wedding, friends kept asking me to help them with their weddings and parties. My family encouraged me to use my passion and strengths to start my own business. From there things grew quickly and I am blessed to be able to work with amazing couples.
Who or what inspires you?
I personally pull my inspiration from nature, my travels and of course my family. But, I love when a bride comes to me with an idea and we can develop it into a full wedding design that isn’t a carbon copy of every other wedding trend.
Describe the ultimate bride to work with.
My favorite couples are the ones who have a great vision for their day that truly expresses their personality, whether it is whimsical, elegant, or quirky. They are laid back and creative. My ultimate bride wants her wedding to be a gathering of friends and family where everyone relaxes and has fun.
How do you do it all and do it so well?
Planning and organization! I have a secret love affair with spreadsheets and Google calendar. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to balance my business and personal life and keep on top of all the details for every client. The secret stash of chocolate I keep in my desk doesn’t hurt either.
What is your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
My favorite part was meeting and collaborating with other amazing vendors. I have made some great friends and created new partnerships through The NotWedding. It is fun to see how everyone brings the inspiration board to life in unique ways.
