“We want people to create a beautiful piece of jewelry. To also receive an education on what goes into making a one-of-a-kind piece and walk away with a positive experience. We are interested in keeping our clients for life. I am not just selling a beautiful engagement ring; I am building a relationship.” For the team at Jeff McLaurin Designs, it’s not about making pieces of jewelry for strangers; instead, they make it a priority to form a relationship with each and every client. It was truly a pleasure working with JM Designs at the ninth Atlanta NotWedding, and we are excited to feature their wonderful business.
“The team at JM Designs is an amazing group to work with! They are detailed, hilarious, and an overall joy to be around. Their work is stunning and they would be a phenomenal team to go to for all your jewelry needs!”

Tell us a little bit about the inception of Jeff McLaurin Designs.
I have been a custom jeweler for over 20 years. After many years working for others, I decided to create Jeff McLaurin Designs. Working for myself allows me to employ and work with the best local craftsmen. It’s important for our clients to have the best experience with myself and the team that makes up Jeff McLaurin Designs. We want people to create a beautiful piece of jewelry. To also receive an education on what goes into making a one-of-a-kind piece and walk away with a positive experience. We are interested in keeping our clients for life. I am not just selling a beautiful engagement ring; I am building a relationship. An engagement ring can be a big step in someone’s life. It’s a special gift to be a part of that time in a couple’s life.
What is the best part of your job?
Creating a ring or any other piece of jewelry with me takes more than one meeting. Typically the first time I meet someone, we just sit down and talk. I find out what someone is looking for or I find out they have no idea what they want – except that it needs to be beautiful. Taking the time to make just what a client wants and see them smile when they open the box is one of the best parts of my job.
Describe a highlight or pivotal moment in your career.
When I decided to step away from just the jeweler’s bench and become involved from beginning to end.
What advice would you give to aspiring small business owners?
I think it is important to surround yourself with people that support you and what you are trying to accomplish. To listen to others but don’t lose yourself and your goals you set out to reach. With so many choices in the wedding industry, make sure you stay true to yourself. People are smart and they can tell if you are genuine or not.
What is your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
I think it’s great that local business are highlighted and getting to know other vendors. I like that The NotWedding supports healthy solid marriages.
