Wouldn’t it be cool to have an employee/coworker/friend who could solve any problem, always offer a helpful hand, give you a good laugh, and brighten your day, every day? Enter: Samantha. She does all of the above (and more!) with effortless efficiency, precision, drive, and a smile. Not only is she an insanely talented Production Manager for The Big Fake Wedding, but in her spare time she does more than most of us can even comprehend. Aside from her full-time job, Samantha is a worship leader, aspiring author, day-of coordinator, and singer/songwriter in the midst of writing an album (just to name a few) — keep an eye out for her Kickstarter to help her record it! Bottom line, we think if everyone had the same motivation, energy, attitude, and love for life that Samantha has, the world would be that much sweeter. We love ya, Sam!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi, my name is Samantha Cole, I’m a closet rapper, a professional bridesmaid, and the best mean-mugger this side of the Mississippi (come to a Big Fake Wedding and see). In another life I would have been a back-up dancer for Beyonce, a florist, or some amazing combination of the two.
The biggest things that you need to know about me are that I care about people (sometimes to a fault), and all that I want to do in this world is love well, give life to people, and live in a way that heaven invades earth. That’s the simple truth. My mom is my muse, my dad deserves an award every day, my sisters inspire me daily, I could eat the turkey burger from Yeah! Burger every day from here to eternity, I love my people, I love my job, I love my God, and the truth is that I don’t ever run out of that love. Not in a flowery, out there, fantastical kind of way, but in the sense that my love pulls from a well of even greater love that doesn’t ever run out. Cheers to that, and cheers to you!
What is the most adventurous thing that you have done?
I’m happy to say that this was a hard question – I’m ALL about adventure. From taking huge leaps of faith across country, to trying new and scary things I think adventure is one of the most important components to living a life that can give life to other people. Favorite adventure to date: I lived in a small Eastern European country for about 3-4 months the summer before my Junior year of college called Estonia. I lived with an amazing family and ran/worked at summer camps that taught english to local Estonian students. It was wild, challenging, frustrating, life-giving and altogether beautiful.
Who of The Big Fake Wedding staff is most likely to be famous and why?
HA! This is a good one. I’m going to say Julia. I can see her being her hilarious sassy self, and some director or producer noticing it somewhere and falling in love with her and making her the star of the next hilarious Bridesmaids-esque movie. Gah-lee, I love that girl and MAN is she funny.
Where would your dream destination wedding be?
Oh man. I get asked this a lot, actually. I do day-of coordination, styling, and a few other wedding-related things under my brand, Samantha Warren, and most of my brides ask me if I have my perfect wedding planned out yet. I want to respond saying, “no, I haven’t even thought about it!” But let’s be real. Of course I do. I have a (not so) secret love for Día de los Muertos and all the design that comes with it, so stick me in a Hacienda in Mexico with sugar skulls and I’m a happy gal.
If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
I’d say I’m encouraging, powerful, and a pretty solid friend. If nothing else, I’m self-aware. I spent way too much of my life this far battling insecurity and doubting my strengths and gifts. So here’s to declaring truths over ourselves, am I right?
If you had to pick an alternative color for your wedding dress besides white, what color would you pick?
Oh man. I’m not going to lie, I don’t think I can do that. Weddings are a super special thing to me, and I honestly can’t see myself wearing anything else! I take that back, if I had to choose, this girl would be in an art deco gold glitter gown. Yup.
