We think the best kind of wedding planner is the kind that you can really connect with, and Erin of Simply Southern Wedding & Event Design is one of those people you feel like you’ve known forever. Not only is she a sweetheart, she also knows how to plan an event seamlessly. We were so impressed by how she well she balanced work and play at the first Charlotte NotWedding, we knew right then and there she had to be our Vendor of the Week. What a gal!

What is the best part of your job?
While I love the entire wedding planning process, my favorite part actually happens the day of the wedding. Seeing the faces of my brides and grooms — their excitement and joy, their love for one another and their pure happiness — brings such a smile to my face! Doesn’t hurt that I get to eat dessert at every wedding too! 🙂
Describe a highlight or pivotal moment in your career.
One of my favorite highlights was when one of my current brides referred me to one of her engaged friends. All my brides put a lot of trust in me and my team to handle all the details for their wedding and it is such an honor that they loved me enough to recommend me!
Who or what inspires you?
My husband, Jonathan, inspires me more than anything or anyone else. He is not only a serious hard worker, but he also is an amazing supporter and fully pushes me to be better than I am!
If you weren’t a planner, what would you be?
I am a huge animal lover — so I would probably do something crazy like train tigers or dolphins! Can you imagine my little 5 foot frame training such big animals?!?
What is your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
Hands down meeting all the other vendors and building relationships! The NotWedding Charlotte was full of wonderful people — not only professionally but on a personal level. I am lucky to say that I have a handful of new friends from the event!
