Tell us a little bit about the inception of Sapphire Events.
I started Sapphire Events in 2011 because I wanted to deliver a high quality planning service to destination brides planning their wedding in New Orleans. I specialize in planning and event decor and design, and have a special place in my heart for millennial brides who love New Orleans as much as I do!
Who or what inspires you?
As a business owner, I am most inspired by the women I have come to know around the country who have started their businesses in this industry to satisfy their creative side and support their families. As a creative, I look to the interior design world to derive ideas for wedding inspiration. The colors and textures and styles used in interiors is an easy application to the wedding world!
Describe the ideal bride to work with.
My ideal bride is decisive! She knows what she wants when she sees it and has a determination about her. I also love working with brides that are creatives themselves and open to collaboration.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Seeing the groom’s reaction when he first sees his bride, seeing the father of the bride tear up when he kisses his “little girl” on her cheek at the altar, and watching everyone cheer the newlyweds on their farewell exit — these emotional moments are my favorites!
What is your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
I really enjoy the guest experience from start to finish – being able to have a test run of the big day and seeing what your vendors are capable of producing is so valuable when planning a wedding!
