Mary + Roy are a boyfriend and girlfriend traveling creative team with trained eyes for artistic composition, color and creativity. They are Burlington County wedding photographers in New Jersey that serve the tri-state area as well as travel for destination weddings and portraits domestic and worldwide. They like adventures and bow ties – our kind of people! They were formerly Mary Meghan Photography, but recently decided to change their look and name to focus more on who they are as a team and couple, as well as focus more on the couples they work best with. Dream team, for real. We couldn’t have been more excited and honored to work with Mary + Roy: A Creative Studio for the very first Philadelphia NotWedding this past July.

Describe your personality in five words or less.
Mary: silly, kind, adventurous, nerdy, type-A
Roy: honest, easy-going, adventurous, giving
Who or what inspires you?
Mary: Being a visual thinker, I’m inspired by a lot of things – paintings and drawings, old black and white movies, nature and exploring, music, quotes, basically anything I see I can get inspired by if it hits me in the gut and makes me want to create.
Roy: Mary and music.
What is the best part about your job?
There’s so much about being wedding photographers that we both love so much, we really couldn’t picture ourselves doing anything else. We love the different people that we get to meet and celebrate, we love the crazy and sweet moments that take place on a wedding day, and we love being able to travel all over to do it together!
When you aren’t doing photography, how do you spend your time?
Mary: When I can pry myself away from my work long enough to take some me time you can usually find me reading. If I’m not reading I’m out adventuring with Roy, we love to go hiking and we love to take mini road trips up and down the coast.
Roy: When I’m not doing photography related things I am probably playing a game on PS4 or Xbox, I’m a big gamer. We also like to go antiquing, we collect vintage cameras and I collect pocket watches and pipes.
What is your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
There’s so much we loved about participating in The NotWedding that it’s hard to pick any one thing as our favorite. We really enjoyed working with the cast chosen for the Philadelphia NotWedding, we just love them and we had so much fun getting to know them. We also really loved being able to meet and make connections with some fabulous local vendors, some of which we have had the opportunity to work with again since The NotWedding! We feel like we’ve come away from the event with great friends and great collaborative connections. Everyone is so similarly minded that it makes networking feel so easy and fun!
