Besides the crazy awesome dinosaurs, why should someone have a wedding (or special event!) at the Orlando Science Center?
My answer to this question is always “because we have dinosaurs!” But, when booking a wedding at the Orlando Science Center, not only is a bride getting one-of-a-kind event space, they are also getting a team of dedicated and passionate event professionals to help along the way. We treat each wedding as if it is the only one on our calendar, guaranteeing an outstanding experience from the initial site visit through the final wedding evaluation. We repeatedly hear from our clients that it is the team of people from the Science Center that truly made their wedding that much better. In addition to that, booking an event with Orlando Science Center enables our mission of “inspiring science learning for life.” All of the revenue generated by the rentals department goes back into our educational programs, exhibits and facility. That being said, when a client chooses to have an event with us, it is two-fold: they end up with a wonderful event and it also helps to preserve and enhance our facility.
What is the craziest thing that has ever been in the OSC?
Orlando Science Center is home to a family of alligators and creepy, crawly critters. We have had wedding guests ask for an up-close animal encounter during cocktail receptions. Our very own “Swamp Lady” will make her rounds with a baby gator, snake, or lizard — all indigenous to Florida. This offers great photo opportunities and on-the-spot education!
Best event you’ve ever been a part of.
Being chosen as the venue to host the “Science of Events” is probably one of the most memorable events and themes that we have been a part of. This event is an annual showcase hosted by a furniture rental company where they partner with other vendors in the community to showcase “best of” events. This one in particular put the Science Center on the map of great venues in Orlando and it also helped develop meaningful relationships with a variety of vendors.
What is your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?
Being a part of The NotWedding was such a great experience! We have heard nothing but great reviews from our brides that attended and working with all of the vendors was just wonderful! It was a great opportunity for brides to come and experience what a wedding would be like and how the vendors would work. I think it makes the wedding planning process not as stressful and the vendor shopping a lot easier. We loved seeing all of our brides and meeting new ones.
