Our home market of Atlanta never ceases to amaze us. After eight Atlanta NotWeddings, we are still blown away by the talented vendors we get to work with! Atlanta florist, Holland Daze, is one of those crazy talented vendors. We caught up with Kim for some insight into her personality and business philosophy.

“Kim from Holland Daze is definitely a florist to watch! She has an amazing gift for making your wedding reception gorgeous. She is a servant who loves getting to know her brides while making their day perfect.”

What is your favorite unexpected item to use in an arrangement?

I love the use of vintage or heirloom brooches that bring a bit of family legacy to the day. I’ve used heirloom earrings in the mother’s or bridal bouquet to celebrate the legacy of committed marriage. For The NotWedding, I used antique clocks from three generations to stop time representing table numbers. It adds a unique signature of each family to use anchors that are meaningful. One of my upcoming brides is using her family’s opal collection in the bouquets. I absolutely love sparkle.

Describe the ultimate/ideal/perfect bride to work with.

My ideal bride is filled with excitement of not just a day, but the start of a lifetime. I always tell brides that the most important part of the day are the sacred vows; however, I love hearing their dream and awakening it to reality. I think the vows are even more special surrounded by beauty and fragrance. My perfect bride simply allows me to get to know her personality, so it can be sketched into the design of her day.

What has been your favorite part of The NotWedding experience?

The experience of The NotWedding was amazing for me. As soon as I saw the palette, I knew I had to participate to honor one of my brides who had lost her battle with melanoma whose favorite colors were included in the inspiration board. While she began like any other consult, our friendship flourished as she inspired me with her courage. I began my sketches and loved seeing them come to life at the event. Brides often feel confined to the latest Pinterest pin, but with no boundaries vendors can use their creativity to help brides gain confidence of going outside the “pin” to make their day express their personality. I loved getting to know some of the other vendors and seeing everyone come together to raise the bar for creativity.
