Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers! We are thrilled to kick off the season in our home market of Atlanta this Monday. We couldn’t think of a more perfect or appropriate day than today to share our first of many Sappy Love Stories for the year. It’s about time that we formally introduce you to our fun-loving couple who will renew their vows at the event. Don’t be fooled by their sweet save the date shoot (or their snuggly breakfast in bed styled shoot), these two love the outdoors and take on adventure any chance they get. Enjoy getting to know Jaime and Eric!
While both undergraduates at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), Jaime and Eric met during a very competitive game of poker one night. Eric claims that the first few times they hung out Jaime only cared about beating him in poker. After a few times of beating him in poker, Jaime and Eric entered into a three year friendship full of adventures. As acquaintances turned into friends, just friends turned into a relationship – these two started dating in September 2009.
Being active and competitive in nature, this couple enjoys all things outdoors together. In December of 2010, Jaime and Eric went to Colorado on a snowboarding trip with ten of their friends. On the last day of the trip, the group trekked to the top of Vail to take some pictures and take advantage of the beautiful view. Friends went one way and Eric grabbed Jaime’s hand in the other direction…down a secluded trail where he got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, the friends had a hunch and followed along behind to help celebrate the engagement!
It seems fitting that the adventure-loving couple was married at an outdoor venue in Hiram, Georgia on June 2, 2012. Neither of the couple had ties to Hiram, but Jaime says “We love the outdoors so that is why we wanted to do an outdoor wedding. It was really ‘us’.”
