“It doesn’t happen very often, but every so often you are lucky to stand there in a moment. A moment that later you will be able to describe to someone but never truly share how you felt when you were in it.” That is how EastCoast Entertainment describes getting to be front and center for those unforgettable moments that weddings create. These guys and gals know that each wedding should have the right soundtrack to set the tone and atmosphere that will make it extraordinary, and they’ve made it their business to help create those moments for you! It has been such a pleasure getting to work with the EastCoast team at several of our events this year, including PhiladelphiaBaltimoreNew England, and New York. We’re so excited to share more about these entertainment wizards in today’s Vendor Highlight!

“EastCoast Entertainment is made up of some of the best humans out there. Their passion for music is wonderful, but it’s their love for people and zest for life that sets them apart. That’s the kind of stuff that makes your wedding or event go from good to great.”

Tell us a little bit about the story of EastCoast Entertainment.
We began in 1976 when two musicians, Dennis Huber and Steve Thomas, came together to form a company dedicated to creating unique, one of a kind memories for people looking to produce celebrations equally as special. With now over 6,000 contracts issued each year and 14 offices, EastCoast has grown into the largest regional talent agency in the country, all while staying true to the founding principles of honesty, integrity and awesomeness!

What is the best part of your job?
As an agent, the best part of my job was always seeing what a special part that music plays in people’s lives. As CEO, the best part has been the journey through business with a staff of friends and coworkers that are as passionate as I am about creating great memories for people.

Describe a highlight or pivotal moment in your career.
Life is about experiences, not the things you accumulate. It doesn’t happen very often, but every so often you are lucky to stand there in a moment. A moment that later you will be able to describe to someone but never truly share how you felt when you were in it. In my job, I am lucky enough to get a front row seat to many of those moments for others…and occasionally have a few of my own. Those highlights for me happen all the time.

What advice would you give to aspiring small business owners?
If you actually sat down and counted up all the hours you spend working and thinking about work, it would overwhelm you. Find something that you so love doing that you never count. That the line is so blurred between what you are working on and your personal life, you will never “work” another day in your life. Your passion and enthusiasm will guide you to success.

What is your favorite part of The Big Fake Wedding experience?
As an owner and in my role at EastCoast, I am a student of business and what makes some work so well and why others struggle. I love businesses that take common practices or the standard model and ask “How can I do this differently?” “How can I turn this around and make it something that’s mine and unique?” I think The Big Fake Wedding has done just that to the norm of the wedding show business. I am excited to be a partner and embrace the unique model and approach that The Big Fake Wedding has employed. I look forward to watching The Big Fake Wedding flourish and being a part of that unique growth.
