Oh, Liz Franklin. We would not be able to do what we do without Liz Franklin. This girl, in addition to being one of the most wonderful humans on the planet, is one of those people who makes you wonder: “How the heck does she do it?” Liz is a Production Manager for The Big Fake Wedding and her job is to guide our vendors through the whole process to make sure they get all that they can out of the experience. In this way, she is sort of like our vendor “coach” — and let’s be honest, our life coach as well. Liz lives life to the fullest; always laughing and making others laugh, exploring the world, dancing like it’s nobody’s business, and making others feel valued, loved, and so special. Liz Franklin doesn’t have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyoncé — she has more. Keep on killin’ it, Lizzy!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Liz Franklin, and I’m one of the production managers for The Big Fake Wedding. I’ll be the one at events teaching everyone how to dougie, and I have a hard time not spending the entire evening on the dance floor.
I’d consider myself a few things: a writer, collector of red lipsticks, dreamer, obsessive Justin Timberlake fan, and that girl who will always be around to make you laugh. I’m always one for a spontaneous dance party and I live to sing with my windows down while driving. I’m also a wannabe chef and have a million food blogs bookmarked on my computer. Fun fact: before I got my degree in public relations, I actually graduated from a holistic nutrition school. Food is my love language… I got that from my mom. Life around the table with beautiful things and beautiful flowers is my happy place.
I have my own blog where I process what it means to be a 20-something female who has “all the feelings,” with the goal of encouraging people to know themselves and take self-introspection a little more seriously. I have a really big heart for emotional health, honesty, vulnerability, and relationships. I love that I get to work for a company that values marriage so highly and supports the things that I care about most. Makes my heart happy.
My heart in this job, and in everything I do, is just to love people well and make them feel noticed. I want people to know that relationships are a big deal, and that they matter. And as it turns out, having fun is a big deal, too.
If you could wake up one morning fluent in a new language, which would you pick?
If I could wake up fluent in one language, I would probably want it to be German. Not because it’s necessarily useful or pretty, but who would expect a girl born n’ raised in Georgia to bust out German? Plus, its awesome in intense situations. Everything sounds more heightened and emotional when spoken in German. I’m for that.
If you could live in another country for the rest of your life, where would you go?
If I could live in another country for the rest of my life, it would probably be Greece! I would eat hummus all day and pretend I could paint on canvas while staring at the water in my white stucco house. Think “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” style. That’s the dream. Greek food is everything good in life. That or Ireland. Something about a bunch of tiny pubs and big grassy fields sounds like somewhere I would want to be.
If you could throw any type of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
Once, I threw a Halloween party NOT on Halloween. We called it “Halloweekend” and everyone had to dress up in a different costume every day for 3 consecutive days. It was pretty ridiculous, but super awesome. I would do something super silly and random like that. I love a good costume find from the thrift store.
If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
Probably 18? That was the best year. You’re “free”… you can drive, make decisions, and you aren’t so tight in the deadly grip of hormones anymore. It’s that time where you grow so much emotionally… you’re figuring out who you are in some huge ways. Moving out, going to college… independence without having to pay all the bills. Count me in. Adulthood is hard.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Here’s a secret: I have this weird nerdy obsession with Lord of the Rings. As in, I cried in the movies because I was so sad it was over. If I could have been Sam Wise, Frodo’s best friend… I would have. Adventuring through the woods while fighting for something way bigger than yourself sounds like the best thing to me. Plus, they get to fly out on giant eagles at the end. I’m a nerd. I want that to be my life. My parents have this joke that whenever I’m in a weird emotional funk, I need to go hide out and re-watch them all (which takes pretty much an entire day). They say I come out emotionally refreshed with a new perspective. I can’t argue.
