Lauren + Sean first met on match.com in 2010. From the beginning, they knew it was a match made in Heaven. Funny enough, Lauren Googled “How to Internet Date” and stumbled across some simple, but sound advice: talk on the phone before you even meet for a date. Their very first phone conversation lasted 3 hours, which was a pretty good indication they had found something special. Even on their first date at Campbell’s Place, the couple sitting next to them at the bar asked how long they had been married. They made that vision come true in March 2012 at Valley Green Inn. We’re so excited to celebrate these two at The Big Fake Wedding Philadelphia!

What inspires you about each other?
From her: The thing that inspires me most about Sean, other than the fact that he is the most hard-working individual I’ve ever met in my life, is his rare romantic, Prince Charming, chivalrous ways that I truly thought didn’t exist in men anymore today. Sean leaves me a love note every time he goes to NYC for work (which is at least once a week), he asks me if I know how beautiful I am everyday and thanks me endlessly for being his wife (and I thank him for being my husband). He appreciates me so much and he shows it, he expresses it through words and small silly gifts and back rubs. His gratitude for me is what inspires me to be the wife and mother I am.

From him: Lauren’s devotion to being such a wonderful mother and wife drives me every single day to be the best man I can be. Lauren’s work ethic and dedication to our family makes me be the best man I can be every single day. I am so devoted to making Lauren proud of who her husband is.

What is the most awesome thing about your marriage?

From her: The most awesome thing about our marriage is that we are the best of friends. We laugh together, we cry together. We walk next to each other through all of life’s highs and we hold each other’s hand through all of life’s lows. We are each other’s lights through the darkness.

From him: We are genuinely attached at the hip. We spend more time together than any other husband and wife and we still cannot get enough time with one another. We never get sick of each other, we communicate very well with each other and we are both so dedicated to being a team in our everyday lives. I feel very blessed to have Lauren as my wife, I didn’t really believe in having a soul mate until she came into my life.

What is “your song” and why?
Our song is “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Beyond it being a beautiful melody, the lyrics were so perfect for us because we did get married a year and a half after we met and some people might think that was “rushing in”, but I “couldn’t help falling in love” with Sean, it was simply “meant to be.”

What advice would you give an engaged couple?
From him: Don’t get caught up in the small stuff, remember that as time goes on if you really work at your relationship you will be able to handle any challenge that life brings to you as a couple. Life will test you as a couple in one way or another and if you really devote yourself to loving your significant other with dedication, sacrifice and communication then life will give you the greatest gift possible, a strong marriage that will provide you with moments you could never have dreamed of.

From her: I read something the other day that said, “Do what you did in the beginning of a relationship and there won’t be an end.” To me, that means continue to date, go out and drink wine, eat good food together and laugh, tell one another not only, “I love you”, but what you love about the other, cook for and with one another, go on little adventures together whether it’s in your own city or town or not, show you care in little ways and it will add up to one big successful marriage. Five years of marriage with Sean has felt like a lifetime and the blink of an eye all at once and that is what I believe true love feels like.
